
If the Manitowoc County COVID-19 reports can be described in one word, that word would be consistent.
For the fifth time this month, two new cases of COVID were reported by the Health Department yesterday (June 10th) bringing the pandemic total up to 7,649.
The death toll has remained unchanged at 72 for the past two weeks as well, and the number of people hospitalized in the has been floating between 15 and 20 during that same time frame.
On the vaccination front, 119 more shots were administered yesterday, with 59 of those being first-dose shots. In total 67,511 shots have gone into the arms of County residents, with 36,114 of those being first doses.
Roughly 45.7% of County residents have gotten at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
In Sheboygan County, however, there was a minor spike in cases, and another death reported. According to the Division of Public Health, this individual was in the 70-79-year-old age group and brings the death toll up to 147.
Also, nine new cases were reported, along with only one recovery. This brings their pandemic totals up to 13,868 confirmed cases, 13,655 recoveries, and leaves 56 cases active.
