Wausau police arrested a registered sex offender Thursday night for removing his G-P-S monitor bracelet the day before.
Dispatchers got an anonymous report of a man matching John Dick’s description in the downtown Wausau area.
When officers tried to take him into custody, they say Dick took off running.
They chased him down, put him in cuffs, and took him to the Marathon County Jail.
The 39-year-old offender has been living in transitional housing near the county courthouse, but his whereabouts were unknown after he removed the tracking device.
Dick had been on “intensive supervision” since being released from prison in December.
