For the next two days, local, area, and even national activists will be converging on a farm in Maribel for the People’s Power Summit.
The summit is being described as “a chance to continue building a mutually empowering network of progressive organizations, workers and community members to respond to growing unemployment, low wages and racism.”
Participants from Detroit, Boston, New York City, and Denver have already confirmed that they will be at the event.
The Summit will feature cultural events, wholesome food, local artists, workshops, and more.
Featured workshops include an African Drum Circle, Labor-Community Organizing, songwriting, and Youth and Kids activities.
The event will be family-friendly, with social distancing and masking being required.
