The woman who sent us the video has responded to our email.
She claims to have spoken to other parents of young teens, who say this isn’t the first time something like this has happened.
She told Seehafer News that one parent said her 13-year-old son was attacked at a park while he was with his 8-year-old sister. They allegedly broke his eardrum and ribs because they were trying to steal his brother’s bike.
It should be noted that this is a citizen report, and has not been confirmed nor denied by the Manitowoc Police Department.
*ORIGINAL STORY*
Citations have been issued to several juveniles after a fight broke out in Manitowoc.
Late last week we received a video that showed a group of children on what appeared to be Red Arrow Beach, and several of the boys were attacking another boy.
After being struck multiple times, the boy was seated in the sand, when someone kicked sand into his face multiple times, before attacking the boy again.
One boy stomped on the other boy’s back.
It is not shown in the video what started the altercation, or how it ended, so it is not clear why the boys were fighting.
We reached out to the individual who sent us the video but have not heard back.
We also reached out to the Chief of the Manitowoc Police Department, Nick Reimer, who said that due to the age of the individuals involved, he could not release their names, but did say that “several citations were handed out”.
He also said that he would not classify the incident as bullying but rather “a fight that occurred between kids that knew each other.”
The video of the incident can be viewed below, but be warned, the content is mildly graphic.
