Three firefighters suffered heat-related injuries as they battled a fire in the woods in Valders.
According to a post on the Valders Fire and Rescue Facebook page, the fire was at 12528 Rusch Road, about 600 feet off the road.
The fire ended up burning around five acres of land, as crews battled not only the fire, but also heavy wind conditions, and the terrain.
In total, it took crews from 14 different stations about 2 hours to contain the blaze, and conduct overhaul operations.
The blaze reportedly was sparked by some ashes that escaped a burn barrel and were reignited by the high winds.
The injured firefighters were treated at the scene and released.
Among the agencies that assisted on the scene were the Fire-Rescue departments from Manitowoc, St. Nazianz, Reedsville, Whitelaw, Cleveland, Kiel, the Town of Two Rivers, Brillion, Collins, Silver Creek, Rockwood, Newton, and Branch.
