
A man accused of stabbing an Appleton Police Officer last March has entered a not guilty plea.
Troy VanGrinsven is facing charges of Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, Battery or Threat to Law Enforcement, Resisting an Officer Resulting in Substantial Bodily Harm or Soft Tissue Injury, and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 31st, 2020 when VanGrinsven reportedly parked outside the Appleton Police Department.
When an officer went to go speak with him, VanGrinsven reportedly charged at him and stabbed the officer with a kitchen knife.
It was reported that he told officers that he wanted them to kill him during the incident.
Two officers were injured, but have since recovered.
