A Sheboygan County Judge has upheld a 2019 ruling, eliminating the option for Kohler to build a Golf Course in Black River.
Circuit Court Judge Edward Stengel agreed with an Administrative Law Judge, who had overturned a decision by the DNR to grant Kohler a permit to fill in wetlands in order to build the golf course.
Judge Stengel said that the DNR’s decision was not based on scientific fact, but rather “speculation and promises”.
The original permit was challenged initially by the Friends of the Black River Forrest, who claimed the DNR had incomplete information when they issued the permit.
