A federal court judge has ruled that the lawsuit filed by former Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department Sargent Andrew Colborn will not be dropped, as was requested by Netflix.
Colborn filed the suit against the media giant claiming his representation in the 2015 docuseries “Making a Murderer” was “biased and falsely depicts him as having framed [Steven] Avery for the [Teresa] Halbach murder.”
Netflix filed a motion to drop the case, but US District Judge Brett H. Ludwig ruled that would not happen.
Colborn claims that he has received a multitude of threats and criticism from the public following the release of the series, that chronicled the Halbach murder, and the subsequent arrest and trial of Avery and Brendan Dassey.
