In the morning hours of September 11th, 2001, firefighters in New York climbed 78 stories in an attempt to save as many people as possible during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center buildings.
In honor of those brave men and women, an annual event has taken place at Lambeau Field, where people climb the equivalent of 110 stories, which was the height of the buildings.
Once the 78th story is reached, a brief pause will occur, as a bell is tolled in honor of the nearly 3,000 people who died in the attack.
Registration for this year’s iteration is now open, which will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the tragic event.
