The number of COVID-19 vaccinations that are currently going into the arms of Manitowoc County residents is a bit misleading.
The Health Department reported that only 200 shots were given out yesterday, however, 104 of those were first dose shots.
The total number of shots given each day is getting lower due to the fact that fewer people are getting their second dose because of the low numbers reported all last month. A higher percentage of the vaccinations being given are first dose shots.
In total, 65,299 shots have been administered, with 35,095 of those being first doses.
Also, only one new case was reported yesterday, bringing the pandemic total up to 7,625, which the death toll remained unchanged at 71.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, nine more cases were reported by the Division of Public Health. That coupled with seven recoveries, brings their pandemic totals up to 13,810 confirmed cases, 13,584 recoveries, and 83 cases remain active.
They also did not report any new deaths, that total remaining at 143.
