A total of five people had to be taken to hospitals as a result of a crash in Brown County yesterday morning (May 23rd).
The incident occurred on Highway K near Highway 57 at around 10:35 AM.
When deputies with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department arrived on the scene, they learned that a pickup truck towing a camper was traveling east on County Highway K, when a car pulled out of a driveway in front of them.
The truck reportedly struck the car on the driver’s side door, resulting in the 16-year-old female driver of the car being taken to an area hospital with what were termed critical injuries. Her 18-year-old passenger was also hospitalized with moderate injuries.
The 40-year-old male driver of the truck was injured but did not require hospitalization. However, the three girls traveling with the New Franken area man, who were 16, 12, and 10-years-old, were taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor and moderate injuries.
