
Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig has released details regarding the SWAT presence in Mishicot yesterday afternoon.
Sheriff Hartwig explained in a news release that deputies and EMS personnel were called to the 400 block of East Main Street at around 4:45 PM on a disturbance call.
It was initially reported that there was an individual with a knife, later identified as 40-year-old Derek Kielkopf.
Kielkopf refused to exit the residence, resulting in the SWAT team being deployed.
They were able to take Kielkopf into custody at around 8:30 PM, and three victims were taken to Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
A 24-year-old female from Mishicot, a 25-year-old female from the City of Manitowoc, and a 27–year-old male from the City of Manitowoc were taken to Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing.
The Sheriff’s Department was aided on the scene by the Mishicot and Two Rivers Police Departments, and Mishicot Ambulance.
