– A teacher at Manitowoc’s Wilson Middle School is among the finalists for the 2021 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Kevin Kiel is an eighth-grade teacher at the school and is among six Wisconsin teachers who made it to the final round. The two winners will receive $10,000 and will be honored in a ceremony held in Washington DC.

WEDNESDAY

THURSDAY

-A catholic priest who had two separate assignments in Manitowoc has been ordained and installed as the new Bishop of the diocese of Duluth, Minnesota. Father Daniel Felton was appointed the new bishop by Pope Francis on April 7th after serving most recently as vicar general and moderator of the curia in the Diocese of Green Bay.
