The mother of the namesake behind Dylan’s Law has released a book of poetry, entitled “Wheels Up – Grief to Peace”.
We recently spoke with Angel Mueller of Mishicot, who told us the story of her son Dylan. She explained that Dylan died in 2014 due to an undiagnosed bee sting allergy.
“He was allergic to bee stings and we didn’t know it, so he wasn’t carrying his EpiPen,” she explained. “After going through seeing him get defibrillated and spending a week in the hospital, I was moved to make changes. It seemed like a senseless death.”
So instead of sitting around mourning her son’s death, Angel decided to take action and make a change.
While telling her story, she gained the attention of Senator Andre Jacque, who put the wheels in motion to write, and eventually get passed, Dylan’s Law.
“What Dylan’s Law says is that anybody, including schools, and businesses as well as any individual who is trained can carry an EpiPen,” Angel explained.. “Also there are Good Samaritan protections in the law, so there is no liability.”
She is also working with Congressman Glenn Grothman to get a similar bill passed at the federal level.
Also, in an attempt to spread the word even more, Angel has released her book.
“I was inspired by God to just start writing,” she told Seehafer News. “Each one is a story in itself…and you can tell I read a lot of Dr. Seuss, because it rhymes. It’s poetry, but it’s also pictures, and it describes Dylan’s life.”
“Wheels Up – Greif to Peace” is available on Amazon, and the Barnes and Nobel websites, and Angel is hosting a book launch party this weekend. She will be at Port Sandy Bay, located at 6421 County Road O in Two Rivers, tomorrow (May 22nd) from Noon until 3:30 PM where she will be signing copies of the book.
