For many people, the most familiar face connected to the Brown County Library System is Mary Jane Herber.
She’s been the historian and genealogist for half a century and was recently honored for her years of service.
Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach was on hand yesterday at an event held in Herber’s honor at the Radisson/Oneida Conference Center.
Herber has also been active in other areas, including for the Brown County Historical Society, De Pere Historical Society, Bay Area Genealogy Society, Heritage Hill Historical Park, Green Bay & De Pere Antiquarian Society, and several others.
She has received numerous awards over her 50-year career, including the Jean Nicolet Chapter DAR Community Service Award earlier this year.
