With the school year winding down, the Manitowoc Public School District met last night (May 11th) to vote on whether to keep their COVID-19 protocols in place or to retract them.
A few citizens were given time to speak before the vote was held, including several people who were very vocal with their opinion that the restrictions should be lifted.
The Board was not swayed, however, as they decided to keep the protocols in place through June 12th, following trend with the Mishicot School District who made a similar announcement yesterday morning.
The mandates at both school districts will remain in effect through the end of the school year.
These decisions come days after the Luxemburg/Casco School District reversed their decision to lift their restrictions following backlash from parents of students and the public.
