The cyberattack on the Colonial Pipeline is causing a ripple effect on gas prices that local motorists are feeling.
According to the AAA Fuel Gauge Report, the price per gallon of fuel in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties each rose five cents to $2.83 and $2.80 respectively, while Calumet County saw a whopping 9 cent per gallon jump to $2.80.
Outagamie and Brown Counties also each reported a five-cent increase to $2.75 and $2.81, while Kewaunee County reported a four-cent rise to $2.80 from last week.
Oddly, Door County, which typically is several cents per gallon higher than the rest of northeastern Wisconsin, actually saw a two-cent drop in their gas prices, and now sit at $2.85.
The State average also went up five cents to $2.84, while the national average rose seven cents to $2.98.
The last time the average price per gallon of fuel was above $3.00 in the US was in November of 2014, and it appears as though we will be reaching that in the near future.
