Bail is set at $3000 recognizance for a 38-year-old Manitowoc man facing several drug-related charges.
Justin J. Bennett is charged with Possession of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia. Police witnessed a vehicle with no license plates exit the Marathon Gas Station Monday afternoon eventually ending up at Saucy’s Bar.
Metro Drug Unit personnel saw the two men in the vehicle walk back to the gas station and get picked up by a separate party. A routine traffic stop revealed the passenger had no seat belt on while Bennett, one of three men in the car, was found to be in possession of several bags of drugs in an Altoid tin along with a glass smoking device and a vaping device with marijuana in it,
He was taken into custody without incident while the other two men were released. Conditions of bail are that Bennett maintains “absolute sobriety” and report to the Manitowoc Police Department for photos and prints.
His initial appearance is scheduled for June 7th at 1:30 PM.
