A Manitowoc man nearly attacked a police officer over the weekend while he was being detained following a domestic incident.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 1300 block of Hamilton Street at around 10:45 PM on Sunday (May 9th) after a caller informed dispatch of a disorderly conduct in progress.
The suspect a 53-year-old man, and his mother were arguing, and he wouldn’t let her and two others into his home. The suspect was reported to be drunk and acting violently.
When officers arrived the man came out and push another man before being separated by police. The suspect then began to “step toward” the officer, who was able to put him into handcuffs, despite resistance by the man.
The man was charged with Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Violence enhancer and Resisting Arrest.
