
Bail has been set for a man charged with injuring an elderly woman.
41-year-old John Hecker of Manitowoc was given a $3500 recognizance bond in an appearance Friday (May 7th) in Manitowoc County Court. Commissioner Luke La Fave Order him to have no contact with the victim and scheduled his next court appearance for June 7th at 1:30 in County Court Branch Three.
Hecker was charged with 2nd degree reckless injury, causing great bodily harm, and disorderly conduct, each with a domestic violence enhancer, as well as two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.
He was taken into custody following a complaint that he became upset with the victim over her intent to withdraw $400 from her daughter’s account for child support at her daughter’s request.
Hecker was listed as the daughter’s boyfriend.
He allegedly slammed a gate shut, causing the mother to fall and injure her ankle, and also was charged with pounding on a door so hard that he shattered a window.
The incident happened in the 1300 block of North Eighth Street on May 6.
