The City of Two Rivers continued their focus on attracting visitors to the Cool City at their meeting on Monday, as they approved a contract with Klein Concessions.
This contract allows the company to offer canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals at Nashotah Beach, and as City Manager Greg Buckley explained, “Also would give them the ability to set up for a similar rental at Paddlers Park and Vets Park, by the Vets Park boat launch. Also some limited merchandise sales would be allowed under this agreement.”
The Council also looked over another potential tourist attraction in Two Rivers. Buckley explained that “Council heard a proposal from Bird Electric Scooters about a possible operation of those dockless electric scooters in the City of Two Rivers.” This would not involve any City investment but would rather be a local operation of the Bird company. Bird recently launched a similar service in Appleton and is in talks with the City of Sheboygan.
The proposal was not approved, as the City Council will be doing more investigating before approving the deal.
