A Manitowoc man is facing charges after he reportedly became irate with an elderly woman and injured her.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 1300 block of North 8th Street on Thursday (May 6th) after a woman called 911 reporting a man beating on her door. She told police that he had fled on foot before their arrival and that he was her daughter’s 41-year-old boyfriend.
He allegedly became upset with the victim because she was going to withdraw $400 from her daughter’s account for child support at her daughter’s request.
The victim reportedly attempted to leave through a gate, but the man slammed it shut, causing the woman to fall over and injure her ankle. He also pounded on the door hard enough to shatter a window.
The man was later located and has been charged with 2nd Degree Reckless Injury, Causing Great Bodily Harm and Disorderly Conduct, each with a Domestic Violence Enhancer, as well as two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
