
Progress Lakeshore held its tenth annual Excellence in Economic Development Awards Celebration virtually Tuesday (May 4th).
A total of six awards were presented to local businesses and individuals in recognition for the best economic development projects and this year’s most influential leaders.
The Entrepreneurial Award, which recognizes an individual or small business that has developed its ideas, products, and/or services into a viable, competitive business while positively impacting the community, was presented to CORE Treatment Services.
Doneff Companies was given the Neighborhood Award for their work on the Schuette Building. This award recognizes innovative real estate development or reuse projects which are properly built or adaptively reused to enhance the community and will positively impact the local tax base.
Peter and Alex Allie were presented the Economic Accelerator of the Year Award, which recognizes an individual or organization who’s an advocate for economic and workforce development along with their ability to demonstrate effective leadership in mobilizing the development of programs and projects.
Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry received the Corporate Investment Award for their positive economic impact on the community and for going above and beyond to enhance their workforce, developing innovation in either product or process, and the ability to improve and adapt to marketplace change.
The Community Enhancement Award recognizing a business or organization that has made a substantial impact on the quality of life in Manitowoc County was presented to the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA.
Finally, Jason Prigge Of Vagabond Creative Studio presented the Coolest Coast Champion Award to Amber Daugs of Grow It Forward.
