There are two separate road closures in Manitowoc next week which will affect drivers in the downtown area.
According to the Engineering Division Manager Greg Minikel, North 10th Street will be closed between York Street and Maritime Drive starting on Monday, as will the east lane of the northbound side of Maritime Drive from the Manitowoc Marina to the Little Manitowoc River Bridge.
10th Street will be closed to allow for the construction of sanitary sewers, a water main, new traffic signal conduits and signal bases, the removal of existing islands, grading, gaveling, and concrete paving.
That project is expected to be completed by May 28, however, the traffic signal will not be operational until later this summer or even into the fall.
As we previously reported, the later closure is to widen the trail by two feet and should be completed by May 21st.
