
The tide is continuing to turn in Manitowoc County in terms of the COVID-19 virus. According to the statistics released by the Health Department, the number of vaccines being administered is continuing to slow, while new cases continue to rise.
Only 242 vaccines were given out yesterday (April 27th), with 50 of those going into the arms of first-time patients. This brings the total number of shots administered up to 56,217, with 32,125 of those being first dose shots.
40.7% of County residents have gotten at least one shot.
Meanwhile, 13 more cases were reported yesterday, which is the third time in four days that number has been in double digits. In total, 7479 cases have been confirmed in the county, with 69 people dying from the virus since the start of the pandemic.
28 people are currently hospitalized with COVID, which is down by one from the previous day’s report.
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health reported one more death linked to the virus. This individual was between the ages of 70 and 79, and brings the death toll up to 137.
Also, 10 new cases were added yesterday, alongside 8 recoveries. This brings the pandemic totals up to 13,634 confirmed cases, 13,359 recoveries, and leaves the active case count at 138.
