Two Rivers Police say a 31-year-old Manitowoc man is in the County Jail after being arrested at an eastside motel Saturday night (April 24th) for a list of drug charges.
Officers conducted surveillance on a room about 9:45 after receiving reports of short-term traffic, consistent with illegal drug activity.
When police observed the suspect drive away they stopped his vehicle and conducted a search. Officers found narcotics, cash, drug paraphernalia, and packaging material consistent with illegal drug sales. Authorities then located more drugs and equipment during a search of the suspect’s room.
Lieutenant Scott Hodek said in all, police discovered over 25-grams of methamphetamine, along with cash, several digital scales, and packaging materials. During a body scan at the Manitowoc County Jail, it was determined the man had concealed another baggie of meth.
A 34-year old Manitowoc woman who was in the motel room was not charged and was released.
The man in custody had previous open drug cases as well as prior convictions of possession of methamphetamine with an intent to deliver a controlled substance in or near a park.
The new charges stemming from his weekend arrest include possession with intent to distribute meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, intent to distribute a controlled substance in a jail, maintaining a drug-trafficking place, a probation hold, and operating a motor vehicle after revocation.
