An 18-year-old Portage man is being held in the Columbia County Jail on charges he sexually assaulted a child.
William Gneiser could face up to 40 years in prison if he is convicted on all seven felony charges. Gneiser is accused of the repeated sexual assault of the same victim. He also faces two more felony charges of sexual assault in Marquette County.
He made an initial court appearance Tuesday in Columbia County. Gneiser isn’t allowed to have contact with the victim or any underage females.
He has an initial appearance in Marquette County set for next Monday.
