A singles player and a doubles tandem from Manitowoc Lincoln High School will begin their quest for a medal finish today (April 22nd) at the WIAA Alternate Fall State Girls Tennis Tournament.
The 7th seeded doubles team in Division-1, Elsie Steimle and Kendra Peterson, open play at Lake Geneva. Their Ships teammate, freshman Olivia Minikel, is seeded 3rd in her singles bracket and has an opening-round bye this morning.
The tournament officially tips off at 9:00 AM with first round matches followed by 2nd round and Quarterfinal action Thursday.
The consolation semifinals, championship semis, along with 3rd, 5th place, and championship matches are scheduled for tomorrow.
The WIAA has announced because of the COVID-19 restrictions, only 4-spectators per player will be allowed admission at the Lake Geneva Tennis Club and Badger High School.
A ticket is required to watch and those are only available at the two tournament sites.
