
A 39-year old Sheboygan man suffered significant injuries last evening when his vehicle struck a tree and caught fire in the Town of Sheboygan.
Sergeant Jesse Smith said the crash occurred shortly after 5:30 PM in the 2100 block of N. 40th Street.
The driver was southbound when the vehicle traveled left of center, entered a drainage ditch, and collided with the tree.
The 39-year old occupant, whose name has not been released, was trapped in the wreckage for a time but was rescued and taken by ambulance to St. Nicholas Hospital with serious injuries.
Agencies assisting the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office included Kohler Police, Town of Sheboygan Fire and First Responders, and Orange Cross Ambulance.
