Despite vaccinations continuing to roll out, and cases of COVID-19 continuing to drop, the Elkhart Lake Fire Department has decided to cancel their 2021 iteration of their Fireman’s Picnic.
The event is normally held over Independence Day weekend, serving as the largest fundraiser for the department.
Leaders in the Department say they made the decision after consulting with County, State, and Federal guidelines, and did so to ensure the safety of those who would be attending.
A fireworks display will still occur on Friday, June 2nd, and a Brat Fry will be held the following day at the Elkhart Lake/Town of Rhine Fire Station.
