There was a fire call late yesterday morning (April 20th) at Sheboygan’s Edgewater Powerplant at 3739 Lakeshore Drive.
Fire crews arrived about 11:00 AM to find smoke coming from the powerplant’s dust collector. Units were met by the Edgewater Fire Brigade who provided valuable information to arriving personnel.
The sprinkler system activated as designed and extinguished most of the fire. Firefighters did enter the building where the dust collector was located to put out the remaining blaze and check for hot spots.
No injuries were reported.
The Sheboygan Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Town of Sheboygan, Village of Kohler, Town of Wilson and the Edgewater plant Fire Brigade.
All units had left the scene by 1:45 PM and the fire remains under investigation by powerplant personnel.
