It was a bit of a slow day yesterday (April 19th) in Manitowoc County, at least on the COVID-19 vaccination front.
Only 130 new shots were given out, with 40 of those going into the arms of first-time patients. This brings the total number of shots administered up to 52,679, with 31,179 of those being first dose shots.
39.5% of County residents have now gotten at least one dose, compared to just over 40% of State residents.
In some good news, there are fewer people in area hospitals due to COVID. That number fell by 5 over the weekend and now sits at 28.
Also, only 4 new cases were reported, bringing that total up to 7,423, while the death toll remained unchanged at 69.
In Sheboygan County, however, there was one more death linked to the coronavirus.
According to the Division of Public Health, this individual was in the 60 to 69-year-old age group and brings the death toll up to 135.
There were also 37 new cases reported over the weekend, alongside 48 recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 13,557 confirmed cases, 13,256 recoveries, and leaves the active case count at 166.
