Tonight is the 1st session of the newly elected Manitowoc Common Council and members will get right down to business after the organizational session.
The agenda includes the discussion and possible recommendation for extending the mask requirement in Manitowoc City Facilities.
The current word of a resolution to be discussed tonight states; “Anyone in a City facility wear cloth face covering which fully covers their mouth and nose is extended through June 30, 2021. This includes members of the public, vendors, and all employees.”
There are some exceptions in the resolution, children 2-years or younger, City employees alone in vehicles, those that can physicaly distance, or anyone outdoors would be able to remove the mask.
This resolution also suggests a path for dismissal of any City Employee that will not comply. Stating; “Department Heads and the Mayor are authorized to implement and enforce this policy by setting departmental guidelines and through progressive discipline for employees, including sending employees who will not comply home without pay.”
The Common Council meeting and Organizational session will begin at 5:00 PM this evening in the City Hall Parking lot and Manitowoc Common Council chambers.
