
Authorities are investigating the drowning of a 47-year-old Kimberly man at the Blue Rail Beach in Manitowoc Sunday morning.
Manitowoc Police and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the North Pier at 475 Maritime Drive in Manitowoc just before 7:30 a.m. for a report of a male subject in the water in need of assistance.
Officers met with the caller in the containment area and located him in the water. Life-saving measures were performed immediately- and he was transported to the beach area then via ambulance to an area hospital where he later died.
The victim’s boat was located just off the beach in the 800 block of Memorial Drive directly across from Dairy Queen. His name is not being released at this time pending notification of family.
