Construction permits and value coming into Manitowoc City Hall are up through the first quarter of 2021, compared to the same period last year.
Two hundred permits were issued in March with a construction value of nearly $3.3-million dollars, compared to $1.7-million in March of 2020.
The year-to-date construction value in the city is $8.1-million dollars so far, while the total for the first three months of last year was $7.6-million.
Also, the number of accidents investigated by the Manitowoc Police Department in 2020 was 1,032 in the Covid-19 affected year, compared to 1,268 in 2019. The Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department has responded to 30 EMS calls, 14 vehicle accidents, and 7 structure fires so far this year.
