A group of honors has been announced by the Manitowoc Noon Rotary Club.
Officer Steve Nolan of the Manitowoc Police Department has been named Officer of the year. Firefighter Jeremy Reichwald is the Firefighter of the year. And the police department Citizen of the year goes to Pizza Garden, while the fire department recognized Wilson middle School teacher Bruce Steinbecker.
Nolan joined the local force in 2014, and was recognized for his positive attitude, excellent work ethic and professionalism.
Reichwald was recognized for contributions to the department’s use of technology and comes from a military background. Steinbecker is a physical education teacher and also serves as head baseball coach for Lincoln High School.
He rescued a student who had suddenly dropped into a swimming pool, pulling him out and performing CPR.
Pizza Garden owners Dan and Steve Diederichs were a big part of the local drive-by birthday parades for little girls.
