State legislators are looking at ways to spend a one-time federal stimulus payment, and a Representative from Manitowoc has voted in favor of a package of bills that invest the $3.2 billion back into Wisconsinites.
According to Representative Paul Tittl, the eleven bills aim to help small businesses, the tourism industry, and the state economy while providing aid to households, supporting long-term care facilities, and investing in broadband expansion.
Tittl said in a news release, “These bills are a direct response to what I have been hearing from my constituents. My constituents want more access to mental health services and a strong economic recovery for the state. Wisconsinites don’t want one person deciding how money should be spent without any public input or debate.”
