Following three consecutive reports where the number of COVID -19 vaccines administered was over 1,000, the Manitowoc County Health Department reported a severe dip in that number.
In their update yesterday (April 13th), the Health Department reported only 301 shots were given, with 209 of them being first dose shots. This brings the total number of shots administered up to 48,633, with 29,605 of those being first dose shots.
There is no word on if this is connected to the recent suspension of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
Also, for the second time in a week, there were 10 new cases confirmed yesterday. This brings the pandemic total up to 7,403, with 28 people occupying ICU beds in the area. That number did not change from Monday’s report.
There were no new deaths, leaving the death toll at 69.
In Sheboygan County, 11 new cases were reported by the Division of Public Health along with 23 recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 13,462 confirmed cases, 13,149 recoveries, and their active case count dropped down to 179.
Their death toll also remained stagnant at 134.
