
It was a very good weekend for COVID-19 vaccinations in Manitowoc County.
1,829 shots were administered over the weekend, with 668 of those going into the arms of first-time patients. This brings the total number of shots given out in the County up to 48,332 vaccinations, with 29,396 of those being first dose shots.
Manitowoc County is now nearing 40% of County residents receiving at least one shot, the number now sitting at 37.2%, compared to the State’s rate of 37.4%.
Also, five more cases were added yesterday by the Health Department, while four more people are occupying ICU beds in the area. The pandemic totals now sit at 7,393 confirmed cases, 28 people are currently in area hospitals seeking treatment, while the death toll remained unchanged at 69.
In Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported that 43 new cases were confirmed over the weekend, while 49 people were added to the recovered column.
This brings their pandemic totals up to 13, 451 confirmed cases, 13,126 recoveries, and leaves 191 cases active.
They also did not report any new deaths over the weekend, leaving that total at 134.
