A man who stole and used a Manitowoc woman’s debit card has been caught and is now facing charges.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 1700 block of Cedar Grove Drive just after 11:00 AM on March 11th to investigate a report of a fraudulent charge on a debit card.
The victim told police that her card was in her purse which was in her boyfriend’s car, which was parked at Alliance Laundry. The man looked in his vehicle and saw that the victim’s purse had been taken.
The officer then went to the BP gas station on Memorial Drive to review surveillance footage of the incident and determined that the suspect was a 35-year-old Manitowoc man.
Officers were able to speak with the man on Saturday (April 10th) and arrested him on a charge of Unauthorized Use of Personal ID Information and Theft.
