
Another person in Manitowoc County has died due to complications brought on by COVID-19.
This is the first COVID death since the March 26th report and brings the death toll up to 69.
Also in the Friday report by the Health Department, 4 more cases were added, bringing the pandemic total up to 7,388., while the number of people hospitalized for COVID in the area remained stagnant at 24.
On the vaccination front, a new single-day record was set in the County, as 1,765 more shots were administered. The previous high was set on March 29th, when 1,761 shots were given out.
Of those new shots, 823 were administered to first-time patients, bringing the total number of vaccinations up to 46,503, and 28,728 people have gotten at least one dose. 36.4% of County residents have gotten at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
In Sheboygan, the Division of Public Health reported 21 new cases on Friday, alongside 22 recoveries. This brings their totals up to 13,408 confirmed cases, 13,077 recoveries, and leaves 197 cases active.
There were no new deaths reported, leaving that total at 134.
