Wisconsin freshman basketball player Carter Gilmore has earned a scholarship.
The six-foot-seven forward from Arrowhead High School joined the Badgers as a preferred walkon.
Gilmore played eight games during the 2020-2021 season, hitting the court for the first time against U-W-Green Bay on December 1st.
He decided to walk on at the University of Wisconsin despite receiving full scholarship offers from DePaul, Southern Illinois, Indiana State, U-W-Milwaukee, and at least five other schools.
Gilmore was a first-team All-State selection after averaging 25 points and 11 rebounds a game for the Warhawks.
The Badgers now have 11 scholarship players on next season’s roster leaving them with two open spots.
