If you’ve traveled Eighth Street in recent weeks, you likely noticed that the iconic Capitol digital marquee display was dark.
The Capitol Civic Centre marquee is lit once again—a welcome sign to area residents and community visitors. The newly-updated display officially went live yesterday, marked by an intimate unveiling attended by Capitol staff and the executive committee.
The investment was partially funded by a generous donation from Roy and Darlene Geigel, long-standing supporters of the Capitol. PJ Albert, the Executive Director of the Capitol said that they are “pleased to have upgraded the digital marquee this year, in honor of the Capitol Theatre’s 100th Anniversary in June. We are grateful for the support provided by the Geigels, who helped make this purchase achievable, and we’re proud of its status as a well-loved icon in downtown Manitowoc.”
