The Two Rivers City Council recently approved a new program for providing housing loans from some of the city’s TID, or Tax Incremental Districts.
City Manager Greg Buckley told Seehafer News that the City has retired three such districts over the past year.
“Under Wisconsin law, you can extend the life of a District by one year to assist with affordable housing activities,” Buckley explained. “We (the city) have about $137,000 set aside for a loan program offering loans at two Percent interest up to $10,000 for exterior improvements to homes.”
The Council also approved publicizing the availability of assistance from TID number 13, located in the Downtown Area between Washington and 19th Street.
