
The COVID-19 numbers in Manitowoc County look really good following the holiday weekend.
Zero new cases were reported since Friday, leaving the County total at 7,365, while 12 fewer people are occupying area ICU beds with COVID. As of yesterday’s (April 5th) report by the Manitowoc County Health Department, only 20 people are currently hospitalized in the area.
Also, there were no new deaths, the total remaining stagnant at 68.
On the vaccination front, an additional 1,012 shots were administered over the weekend, with 735 of those being first dose shots. This brings the total number of vaccines administered up to 42,092, with 26,788 people at least receiving one dose.
Just shy of 34% of county residents have received at least their first dose of the vaccine.
In Sheboygan County, it was a much different story.
The Division of Public Health reported an additional 56 new cases, alongside 41 recoveries. Their pandemic totals now sit at 13,324 confirmed cases, 13,019 recoveries, and 171 cases remain active.
No deaths were reported however, as that number stayed at 134.
