Wisconsin hockey coach Mark Johnson has been named U-S-C-H-O Women’s Divison One Coach of the Year.
Johnson led the Badgers to their fifth national championship during a season dramatically impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
After 16 seasons leading the program, he tops all college hockey coaches with 494 victories.
The Badgers have missed the N-C-A-A Tournament just twice since 2005.
Johnson’s team closed the season on a roll, allowing just three goals in the post-season and winning the top spot with a 2-0 shutout of Border Rival Minnesota.
