Residents of a Milwaukee neighborhood say utility workers who were replacing an electrical transformer were responsible for damaging their appliances and electronics.
The work may have caused a power surge last week.
Patricia Latiker says when she called, We Energies told her the company wasn’t responsible for her non-working computer, microwave, telephone, and alarm system.
A spokesperson for the utility says it heard from three customers reporting the same problem, adding – if the utility’s equipment caused it, We Energies will work with those customers to replace what was damaged.
