Following a 4-3 ruling yesterday by the Wisconsin Supreme Court to overturn the State Mask Mandate, the Manitowoc County Health Department issued a General Face Coverings proclamation strongly encouraging the wearing of masks when in public.
While emphasizing this proclamation is not an order or mandate, Health Officer Stephanie Lambert said, “Masks remain one of our strongest tools for reducing transmission of the coronavirus. Each and every time someone new gets sick, there is a risk that the virus will mutate in a way that could make the vaccines less effective.”
She added, “If we want to return to normal, we must do everything we can to limit the spread of COVID-19 until more people are vaccinated.”
