Health Officials are somewhat concerned about the slight uptick in average daily COVID-19 cases being reported.
Manitowoc County Health Officer Stephanie Lambert says that number has increased to about six per day county-wide.
“This is the highest it’s been since February and should be considered a warning that it’s not yet safe to resume normal activity,” Lambert stated. “Less than one out of five people are fully vaccinated. It’s not time to become complacent.”
Lambert says she’s heard some talk about some being “more deserving” than others to receive a vaccine. Lambert said that is not a good way to look at it.
“Don’t wait for others more deserving than you,” she pleaded. “Supply is here. It’s your turn. Get the vaccine To protect yourself, your family, and your community. Let’s get ‘er done.”
Vaccines will be administered today at the Roll Aire Skating Rink in Manitowoc then return next week to the Expo Grounds.
