Authorities in Fond du Lac County say search teams recovered the body of one of two missing canoeists from Lake Winnebago.
Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt said the man matches the description of one of the men and the medical examiner is working with the family to confirm the victim’s identity.
He was found Wednesday afternoon with the help of sonar equipment. Sheriff’s deputies and the Wisconsin DNR continue the search for the second man.
